Subjects of Kormyre,
This letter is being copied and sent out to all the Baronies within the Kingdom. Earlier last week, some of you may have noticed tremors like an earthquake happening near the western front of the Kingdom. Many of us thought little of it. When Lord Magnus arrived in the capitol shortly after myself, he informed me of some troubling news and we immediately set out our scouts to investigate. It had only reached my attention that the Lucious Balliol had been speaking to himself in his cell while awaiting his hearing and sentencing. And only more recently did it all add up. He had been noted to be seemingly praying while in his cell, wishing for the safety of his empire. Explicitly his prayer was recorded as, "They saw to march into my domain, never again. I wish no enemy may ever reach my empire again."
Only now do the pieces match up. The djinn, the wishes, and the earthquake.
Quickly, Lord Magnus took a team and traveled swiftly to to the warfront to find that there simply was no longer one. Following the cliff face that separated much of Vorlorne and the rest of the Kingdom, he encountered the remnants of our troops and some empire soldiers tending to wounded seemingly where Bastion should have been. Instead, there was only more cliff-side and shattered ruins. Magma poured from high atop as if Arawyn had dredged up a deep pocket and raised it to the sky.
Balliol's second wish was that no one can reach his domain, and so the djinn had shaped the land, furthering the cliff to completely cut off the Kingdom from Vorlorne. Wolfhaven was caught on the raised side of the new terrain near the mountains, and we have yet to receive reports of what has befallen the settlement.
I am deeply sorry for those who have lost their lives, their homes, and their families.
Vorlorne is lost. Bastion has been obliterated. Wolfhaven is uncertain.
Lord Hystern and I have drafted a map of the region as it now stands.

Is there anything we can do to change the land back to the way it once was or would it be best to leave it all be? If you think there is a way and that we should do it, I can make it my top priority.

Travance,
Let us gather our resources. We need to reinforce the people's hope and do so by action. This war has done enough. If you somehow engage in conflict resolve without causing causalities. Our priorities should be our attention to the displaced and wounded.

Lord Aleister,
Is there a plan for the resettlement of any refugees from these areas? If any of them intend to or are being guided to Travance the guard stands ready to provide escort and protection to these groups once they are in our lands. Alert us if this is the intention and we will make the necessary arrangements.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I've read about djinn, they always adhere to the exact lettering of a wish, and if a loophole is exploitable, the djinn will exploit it to mess with the person. I can't say for certain whether this massive land change was the djinns way of exploiting a loophole to possibly doom balliols "empire" to a form of isolation, but that's not the point. The point being, if those who are enemies of the empire were to find a way enter the empire despite the wall, the wish may activate again to keep them out. My personal concern here is that, the people in the empire are most likely cut off from supplies, and are in need of assistance, especially after being denied aid like this after losing a war. So I think we may have a slight loophole in order to help the people in the empire. If Balliols exact wish was, "I wish no enemy may ever reach my empire again." then anyone who believes themselves an enemy of Balliols empire, would be kept out. However, if someone who wasn't an enemy were to say, get a massive ladder and climb up, or find another way up to the empire. Then the wish, wouldn't keep that person out. At least, that's my hypothesis.

I would Counsel finishing our work with the Hobgoblin Empire and lick our wounds for the time being. Be good to have an ally behind his so called Empire. Especially one he just used. I can imagine they might want revenge on his Empire of manure.

Nalick,
His first wish is how he got the Esper. His second was this thing with his Empire. The third was how he escaped obliteration, wishing for freedom, which the Djinn reinterpreted as killing him and freeing his spirit, so it could be resurrected later. At least that's what I heard. He has no more wishes.

Eden,
If the man is truly dead as you say, I have several questions
1. Where did you learn this information?
2. Where does his body lay
3. What would this mean for his trial (assuming it has not already occurred, I have been preoccupied with other matters of late)
If he is indeed dead,
1. Can he, indeed, be resurrected? As In A. Would it be possible, B. Would it be a simple matter, and C. Do we Travancians in any capacity desire it?
and
2. What has happened/would happen to this Djinn once the three wishes have been granted?

Anyone please correct me if I am wrong
1: I found this out from a monthly report of events, as well as hearing about it from other townsmembers
2: From what I've heard, rocks crushed him and he died during his trial in "Cell Zero"
3: I am not a member of the Law so I can't answer this question
1:The Duke most likely has what we would call a "Heroic Soul" I would say he could be resurrected. Let us also not forget that Travancians aren't the only people capable of resurrection. I am sure there is more than 1 in his "Empire" capable of such a task.
2:If I remember correctly(It's been a while), Djinn "vanish" and wait to be "found" by a new person.

He has already been resurrected. I briefly touched his mind a few days after his escape to confirm.

1- I was present at Lucious Balliol's sentencing (it was not a trial as his punishment was already decided as obliteration). Therefore, I can attest to the events.
2- His body was 6 stories underground in the catacombs (not cell zero), where the sentencing was taking place and his power was the most subdued. But is no longer there, since he previous body is destroyed when a new one is created via resurrection.
3- Lucious Balliol's crimes remain, thus his punishment remains obliteration. The sentencing was merely so he could admit to his crimes, to bring closure to the affected families of those lost to his atrocities, as well as attempt to prevent further bloodshed by having him sign a declaration which he ripped to pieces prior to his final wish.
Indeed he died by making his final wish from his Djinn; of freedom.
1- He can be and has been resurrected. Possible, simple and doesn't matter if we desire it or not. What is done is done. He has gotten his wish and is once again free.
2 - As it announced, the Djinn no longer serves Balliol as its master and has returned to hiding, until found again by a new master.
Post if you have more questions, a messenger will alert me and I will respond to the best of my ability.
May the light guide your paths and keep you safe.
