Katsucon is that weekend -- I've been running their Guest Green Room for 9 years. It's in DC every year President's weekend.

Oh man!  Being single pays off for once!  I'm totally going to be there.

A simple way to know if going to KR on Valentine's Day will work.

Say to your significant girl/guy/turnip/made up friend "Wow, I can't beleive that James guy, scheduling an event on Valentine's Day. Is he nuts?"

If their reply is
A) 'Yeah, he's crazy.'
Don't go. This will not only hurt you and your romantic chances that day, but will certainly be used for future arguements as well.

'Well, it's not such a big deal, it's just a made up holiday anyway.'
See answer A. This is known as a test, and you better pass.

C) 'That sounds pretty cool. Go and have some fun with your friends.'
This may be legit and you can get away with going, but know your partner well, for this may be a stealth B.

D) ' How much build do you get?'

Or your significant other could have her birthday on the 13th with a long established tradition of celebrating V-Day on another date.
