Makeup Questions was created by Aria (Aria)
Hey guys, hopefully someone can help me.  I'm looking for some kind of makeup that can stay on if I put cloth over it, or if sweat gets on it.  Not sure if there's anything better then setting powder, but I'm not sure if that works with fabric.  Any one have any ideas for me?

This kind of makeup is brilliant. Has to be mixed with 99% alcohol to apply and remove. It doesn't come off with any amount of water otherwise. I know it's pricey but it's awesome. Not so great for around your eyes but I've very carefully applied it and it wasn't terrible. It is mad expensive but I did have some once. I think it got left on site though so if I can find it the day of the event you're welcome to try it out. :)

Setting powder works well, but will sweat off and may rub off over a medium amount of time. There is a setting spray that works great for keeping makeup in place, but remember that this spray for all intensive purposes is a sealant and it prevents your pores from breathing properly, (so does thickly applied makeup too, to some degree).
Fixier Spray

KRYOLAN Fixier Spray is a special cosmetic preparation for application over makeup. It creates an invisible protective film, which prolongs the life of the makeup and its effects. Fixier Spray is particularly effective for body painting with KRYOLAN Aquacolor and with other wet makeup preparations.

KRYOLAN Fixier Spray is applied thinly and evenly and allowed to dry. The protected makeup is then smudge and rub-proof, and withstands even excessively harsh effects and exposure. Setting Spray makes any makeup resistant to cold water and considerably delays the deterioration of makeup on the skin as a result of perspiration.

Setting Spray contains alcohol and should not be applied near eyes or mucous membranes.

Setting Spray can be easily removed with soap and warm water.

CAT # Description Price
K02290 Aerosol can 400 ml $34.00
K02292 Pump bottle 100 ml $13.00
K02294 Refill bottle 1000 ml (not pictured) $49.00

or...
Ultra Setting Spray

Ultra Setting Spray is an innovative product for makeup setting.

This fine mist spray is a light setting preparation, with exceptional matt and light effect after application, and is most suitable for camera work.

Ultra Setting Spray dependably sets any kind of makeup. Before applying it to cream foundation, the foundation should first be powdered.

The spray is applied thinly and evenly, and dries quickly. The protected makeup is then extremely smudge-proof, and is resistant to moisture.

Ultra Setting Spray contains less alcohol than traditional Fixier spray, but should not be applied near eyes or mucous membranes.

K09291 50 ml $8.80

Thanks a ton, maybe I'll look into that instead, as $75 is just not in the budget.  And I need a few other things for this event so the cheaper the tab the better, without sacrificing quality to much of course.  ;)

I just do a thin layer of cream or lotion + cake powder + dusting of setting powder.

I jumped in the lake with full torso painted and didn't even smudge.

I you go with that you should be alright.

Hey sorry to keep being a pain.  Any of you ladies have suggestions on where I can get short gloves.  I've checked half a dozen stores, and they are all arms length.  And if I get the ones that they use for winter, the cheap ones, I have to cut the fingers off so they'll unravel. So suggestions are more then welcome.  As I need them to be solid and not lace.  Thanks.
