Some things to realize about this crowd:

1) Lunch is not served as a course on Saturday.  People WILL be hungry, especially if they are late risers and miss breakfast.

2) A good chunk of the game is late teens to mid 20s, a.k.a. Always Eating.

3) Veggies are healthy.  If you put out healthy nosh food, it WILL get eaten.

Herbs, there's enough cooks at the game they should get picked up.

I'd recommend picking up Trade: Farmer, Gardener, or Pickler if you want to stay more IG - given that pickles were a good way to prevent scurvy, it makes good sense for a Coast Havener to be a pickler.

Also, be amazed that Diane said "Bring them" and did not omit the pickles.  Her hatred of them is legendary. ;)

Don't get TOO excited: with the veggies, we're talking on a very small scale. Probably the only thing I'd have any large amount of is corn, and that certainly won't be until September/October. I'm going to quarter the pickles to stretch them farther, but we planted a lot fewer than last year.

Herbs would be sold in small bundles, maybe 3 sprigs at a time. Just enough to flavor a stew, chop into 1-2 recipes, etc. After all, its not like they'll stay fresh long enough to warrant buying bulk.

In terms of taking IG skills... Erim has no interest in being a merchant. I was planning on finding IG if there was someone who already had a stall who'd be interested in carrying some fresh goods she happened to pick up on her last visit to Coast Haven - for a share of the profits of course, either on consignment or bought outright. Of course, if there were a merchant who wanted to have a bit longer term relationship, Erim's always traveling about and willing to work as a supplier...

Also, note that the original post has been updated to note that there are more varieties of herbs available than I'd originally thought.

Reminder, herbs and homemade pickles (cucumbers and peppers!) will be available for sale at market faire on Saturday.

List of herbs for sale:

Curry
Chives
Rosemary
Thyme
Basil
Mint

All herbs are sold in bundles of 3 sprigs, around 5s to 1g. Everything except the dill and chives are woody herbs, so toss them in water or a wet napkin in the refrigerator and there's no reason they shouldn't last long enough to use. Mint makes a wonderful tea, or can also serve very nicely to add a pleasant fragrance to an otherwise stanky cabin. Personally, I like to crush them and toss them in water or juice.

The pickles are barely sweet, vinegary delights with just a hint of spice. The peppers are not for the faint of heart!

Everything is homegrown, but this was a bad season so there's not a lot of it. Get it before its gone!
