I personally went with the plastic tubs from Target during a back-to-school sale. Not only were they inexpensive, they stack, and are washable. Yes, they're not IG looking, but considering I have 6 of them... 6 wooden steamer chests would have been a bit much.
If you're still looking for the classic chest, check online for SCA & Ren Faire makers that might be able to help. Just make sure the thing is portable, and not too heavy to lift when it's full!

Just saying to keep your eyes open you never know what you'll find. Also depending on how useful it is when I move I may sell it not sure yet.
