so I'm going to write all the questions I have b/c I have a few

1. is there a special currency for KR?

2. I'm want to be a half-elf (elf/human) but on the rules it says I need to be one or the other. it kinda lost me. do I need to kill off one of my parents in my storyline or something?? o.o; 

3. the fees for the game is easy to understand except the membership fee and the pay at the door fee if you have the membership fee, do you still need to pay upfront to get in?

4. my sister wants to know if a hobbit gets nervous can they play stupid?

5. last but not least, if we wanted to try cooking duty could we?

Heya, I'll see if I can answer a couple of these questions.

1. Yep, we've got our own currency!
2. You've got to be one or the other, but you can pull it off roleplay-wise so your character can act more human than elf. For instance, you were abandoned as a baby and raised by humans or something.
4. If you wanna get a feel for what being in the kitchen is like at an event, you can volunteer in the kitchen any time for a few hours. Additionally, if you volunteer, you can get service points which is a neat bonus.

This first one was a rules question - Emily should have waited for a Rules Marshal to answer, as its more technical than that.  There is not playable race that is a "half" anything.  While an elf and a human can have child, when it is born it is either one race or the other (there are some races that cannot have children together at all, but thats listed in the rulebook somewhere).  So while history wise, yes you'd be a half elf, biologically you'd be one or the other, with the full racial rules and requirements thereof.

Membership Fee is a once a year fee collected in something like April, but it varies.  It is completely seperate from the Event Fee.  So, during the month that said Membership fee is collected, a player has to pay both the Monthly event fee and the membership fee.  But that shouldn't be anytime soon.
