I'm a new player doing her first game this weekend.
I'd like to play a Physician. What costuming tips and any other general suggestions for a new player do you have?

As what is affectionately called an 'Alt-O-Holic' (in other words, I play a good many characters of different races/classes), I'll give my 2 cents.

Always bring a set of black clothes for NPC purposes. Dark gray/brown/neutral work too.

Make sure that the shoes you use are GOOD. Aim for period if you can, but aim for comfort above all else. Many hiking boots mens/womens come in brown and black. Break them in before hand: There's nothing worse than blisters!

All the socks.

Remember that your character will evolve over time. All my characters have changed costuming slightly (or majorly) since I first created them. If you use a very generic white shirt, it might become a stitched gray or silver shirt later, or change to red! Some older players have awesome evolution photos.

Think what your physician might need/use. I've seen some players carry bandages or a medical bag (period if possible, or a wooden box). Plastic bottles filled with sand/liquid to imitate medications, etc. For example, my Romani Healer always carries a pack of tarot cards, my Dryad Druid/Bard carries a drum, and my Londwyn Alchemist has a tome or two.

Hey Shannon, name is Conor and I'm a new player marshal. Julie Anne hit the nail on the head with all of her tips.

Any other questions, feel free to ask.

Orientation is usually 9pm.

Depending on the weather, it is either in the main building (the Inn), or in the Barn.

If it is cold it'll be the Inn, if it's medium to hot, and there's room, it'll be in the barn.
