Both trailers fail (the real and fake one) simply because of how Gannon looks.

This was IGN's April Fool's joke of 2008.  Really well done, in my opinion... Despite the fact that the actor that plays Link is right handed.   (Well the old Legend of Zelda cartoon series didn't get that right either...)

I would agree with you , Chris... but I also knew this. It's one of those things that most really-really Zelda fans know. Link is left-handed.

Well, that's because the Wii version was just a hack. They mirrored the ENTIRE game from the original, GameCube version, just so that Link would appear right handed.  In the GC version, Link is in fact left handed.
