Console Gaming Online

It's great. Visuals are amazing, and the dialog is very entertaining.

Most people I know who played it on xbox were less than impressed, but on PC at least I pronounce it win. Groundbreaking? Not by a long shot. But the controls are solid, visuals are entertaining, gameplay should be satisfying to any quester, and there's a great thread of humour running through the whole thing (two of the challenges [achievements] are titled "Hot! Too hot!" and "Who made that man a gunner?!". Any game made by Mel Brooks fans is a game well done). It definitely feels like a game for a moderate to advanced player too, as opposed to Halo or some such.

I'm only 6 levels in, but I'd rate the game a solid B+, which seems to be the overall consensus so far. Game of the year no, but definitely a fun time at the movies (so to speak).

Anyone experiencing issue with connecting to servers? Gearbox's forum has a fix on openning ports. Mayhaps a four player game this weekend?

I had that problem at first, but once I went into my router and forwarded the ports I can host games no problem.

You don't need to forward the ports to join, only host, but I recommend doing it anyway, since you can only do the quests the host is on.

Funny story, vince plays Lillith (the red-headed, female rogue) and I play Mordecai (the skinny, pony-tailed & goateed male assassin). My mother came in the other day and thought we had purposely chosen to play as each other.

Double funny? No one would know because no ones seen me play videogames before, but Lillith sounds a LOT like me. Vince thought I had set up the microphone the first time he heard her .
