What I'm wondering is how hard Disney/Marvel will lobby to get film rights back from all the characters they sold off to other studios.  Right now the rights for Blade, Wolverine, Deadpool, the X-Men, Fantastic Four and Spider-Man are all with various other studios that aren't Disney or Marvel.  I wonder if they will fight hard to regain those rights?

Oh, and I so totally did Kristen ;)

If Disney wants their 4 Billion back any time soon, they should.

Depending on what you read, Disney bought Marvel just so it would be an asset of the company. That's it.

Consider this: Disney is clearly aimed at a younger crowd, once they get old enough, money coming in from this group drops substancially. After the ghost town at SDCC (I know, didn't think they were even there) last year, Disney saw their future was to expand their image to be for all ages.

The Wii Horror/Steampunk game, and recent games that I shall not name, show the company isn't for little kids anymore. And who better to push that point with than a comic book company.

I only said one thing when I heard Disney bought out Marvel (for buckets and buckets of money).

in refrence to what i have heard about the various characters that marvel had "sold rights too" to other production companies..(WB, Sony, ect.ect.ect.)  the deals for said characters rights were NOT for the entirety of the character. but only for "the right to use said character in various productions and the like under the supervision of (at the time marvel) and now apparently disney via the marvel crew that they (i believe) are keeping. and again at the time marvel would recieve X for the sale of "right of use" (NOT ownership) and marvel would also recieve Y% of all monies earned from said use of a given character.

that is atleast what i have garnered from listening to NPR
