For the record, dont misunderstand me. I hate the flyers as much as the devils, but hate both far less than the rags.
I can appreciate skilled players and a well played series, as I am a rabid hockey fan.
And overall, it wont matter anyway. The western rep. should rip any remaining team from the east a new ass in the cup finals.
Until next season. Go Isles.

FYI Matt, I played in thge 1906 World Series. I appreciate upsets, remembering and listening to the worst meltdown ever, the 1964 Phillies. If 1950 was the Whiz Kids, then the 1964 team will be remembered as the Was Kids.

To get this post back on topic:
Nice to see the Rangers get some bounces, some solid goaltending and prevent the sweep, but it's too little too late at this point, and Pitt seems to be the East's Team of Destiny.
How will the Team of Destiny hold up to the juggernaut that is Detroit? Not well I think. Let's just hope it's competitive and fun to watch, and the not the complete domination it's shaping up to be.
Did anyone see the hit that caused Avery's spleen injury? No? Neither did I, but isn't a ruptured spleen the kind of thing you see in car accidents? And he finished the game, yeah hockey players are tough.
I really hope Tom Renney doesn't lose his job, I think he is one of the most intelligent, well-spoken, loyal and dedicated coaches in hockey, he just needs to tune a few guys into the system more. If he should end up jobless, let me be the first to say he won't be unemployed long.
I listened to Jagr explain that, at 36, he can't go every game the way he has this playoffs, and while it makes sense to listen to, I am not sure I am buying it. I would hate to see the guy go play elsewhere, if he can bring this sort of game to the playoffs, but at 7 million dollars you don't get to play half a season. Take a salary cut to 4 million if you wanna play that way.
Just sayin'.

We asked Ryan smith about losing game 4, 8-2 to Detroit and being swept in the series.
He had this to say.
