just to post in my own thread. i found many nice glass alchemy style pieces for penny's at thrift stores a fourth what they would have costed online.

Best thing to do, visit thrift stores nearby Renaissance Faires, seriously. The folks in town will buy some stuff, work a faire for a bit and then not know what to do with it. I know folks that have found armor, sandlars and chemises at a thrift store by the Scarborough Faire.
