Personal Boundaries

As with any social organization the larger the group, the more often you begin to run into various issues. The larger our group gets, the more I feel it is important to remind people of a few common sense things that may not always be clear until pointed out. Please consider this post as we point a few things out, and expect you to be cautious and courteous.

It is true that some of you end up meeting your significant others at this organization. This is great, but what needs to be realized and fully understood is there are also plenty of people who come to this game with absolutely no desire to find a significant other, or otherwise engage in any romantic behavior or RP with players or characters. Your flirting with these players can make them feel uncomfortable and sometimes even unsafe. Because it is hard to tell what the person you are interacting with is thinking, you should always choose on the side of caution and courteousness. Be cognizant of your behavior towards someone else, especially someone you do not already know well outside of the game. If you are paying someone a compliment too many times while walking alone with them in the dark woods, are you crossing the line? You very well may be, so dial it back. In every circumstance, if someone tells you that they feel uncomfortable with something you are doing, simply apologize and remove yourself from the situation. You need to also be much more careful the next time not to cross that line.

The preferred and first line of defense is that you yourself should be aware and careful about how you are acting to other players. Even if it is just role playing. The second line of defense is that if you fail, and another player informs you that you are crossing the line with them, that you immediately and indefinitely comply with their desire to not take part in this type of behavior or role playing.

We simply wish for Knight Realms to be a safe and comfortable place for people to play, so please keep the above in mind to help make sure it remains so. Thank you!
