Thalia - thank you for the clarification, that makes much more sense.
Nalick - as Grim said, that's up to the Baron and Warlord. They make the plans. I just work here. (Although in these matters, I would probably defer to Magnus).
Bran - who are you accusing of idle talk? This is called planning, and is vital to the success of our mission. As much as I'm sure you'd like to, we can't just go there swinging our swords (or maces) around and trying to kill everything in sight like the mindless murderers Travancians often are. This is likely to be an island of Good, the same as your god, last I checked.
GAAAAAAMMMMMBBBBBLLLOOOOOORRRRR
ARGH.

Nalick,
I'm traveling north this month, sadly, to check on other things. I won't be able to go with you to the isle. Sorry.

Idle talk like this. Ain't accomplishing anything towards your planning.
Less you lot have sommat useful to say, I'd advise keeping traps shut and getting ready.
I'll be doing the same.

I believe the use of the term "taint" may be in reference to the perception of the author of the books used to research the island. Remember, when the Astral beings first arrived, there was no such thing as good and evil to them. They could have seen both as a "taint".

I have completed more of my research and can share the following in the knowledge it is accurate.
There really isn't any charts of those waters surrounding the island. People avoid those islands and have since the rift happened and they became mostly impassable due to the rift. Everyone avoids them by staying close to Coast Haven's shores up to the quail straits.
As far as local flora and fauna, we should expect similar species to what we normally see: bears, wolves, deer, rabbits, things of that nature. But one thing that kept coming up in multiple sources during my research research is this 'taint of good' mentioned by others. It's connected with Fiona's presence on the island.m A better word than taint is "presence."

Arlington: "Huzzah?"
Brother Germaine: "You know, the enemy that has menaced us for over a year and murdered many of our friends? He's dead."
*a couple of nods*
Arlington: "I believe you can attribute our subdued response to the fact that we're eating bacon."
Brother Germaine: "You have bacon?"
