Looking at this list, I can't help but feel that some may not feel comfortable in this exchange. Other than Knight Captain Magnus, I do not know who though.

Out of concern for those uncomfortable, as well as my experiences with these events going south rather badly, I feel I may need to participate in the bidding, if only to make sure that nothing bad happens to them.

Sir--or madam, since the writing isn't at all signed-- you may have dates in Travance confused with weddings in Travance. I've yet to hear of a date going south in a violent way.

Once, many moons ago, I was a guest at the wedding of a good friend of mine named Wolfgar. The ceremony was indeed nice; however, when the time came to cut the cake, no one could find a knife with which to cut it. So, in lieu of a knife, Wolfgar drew his blade that nearly matched myself in height and swung it downward onto the cake with such ferocity that it sent pieces this way and that! Now, I am fond of sharing, but I tend to handle it somewhat differently than that. In any event, the cake was quite tasty--but you should keep on your guard just in case!
