Even in these dark times for our community, let me assure you all that the door to my cottage is still unlocked, and the kettle still on the fire each night. Should you feel afraid, or fear for your life, may I suggest pulling up a chair with this old man, and sharing stories by the fire for awhile. I extend this invitation to our honored guests as well, as in a time of war such as this, hospitality is evermore important.

This is a very kind and generous offer that this man has offered us, and at great personal risk. To publicly post that ones door is unlocked, I am concerned for his safety, given the current state of things. I, of course, speak with no authority, but I would like to request of those who do, if arrangements can be made for his protection, and that of his guests?

I highly recommend a chat with Menton if you have not already. He knows the area and is a good conversationalist.

Although I do have to agree with Addy. Menton, I highly recommend that, at least at night time, you keep your door locked for protection from those who might mean you harm. I cannot be everywhere at once to protect should something go awry.

I thank you kindly for your concerns, and I could certainly lock my door if those who come and visit me wish to feel safer. But, that would also lock out others who may wish for respite and good company. I hold no objections to guards stopping by on their patrols to check in, and will offer them the same hospitality. I'll be sure to lock my doors before resting for the night, but so long as my lantern's lit, assume one and all welcome.

I do so hope your duties don't leave you too busy for a chat. This dedicated Andorran would love to hear the tales of those who crusade for his master's master, and you have an excellent reputation for doing just that.
