cream of Magnus soup....... sigh

Getting to hang out with vince, steve, and tim.  All people that I always want to hang out with but never get to....

Crazy conversation started with Barak, which may lead to new and interesting prospects, can't wait to continue this. 

Getting to walk in and see how beautiful everyone looked, as well as meeting new friends.  Very fun for my first ball

Highlights:
1. Getting to talk to people I normally wouldn't
2. The food and drink was delicious
3. The talent show was awesome.
4. Trinket!
5. getting to role play (I'm usually too busy looking for goblins to defeat and gloat over)

Low lights:
1. after party.
2. forgetting my bag in Matt's truck which has my Picture CD in it.

Highlights:

Great food and great costumes all around

Attempting to prove that the clan had "civilization hiddlins"

Receiving compliments on the mask Ashling made me (best part was that I could wear my glasses comfortably with it).

Being part of some Clan McSweeny antics with Hamish.

Getting to sing "Old Lord Pyre" alongside Billiam and Hamish in the talent contest and watching the crowd sing along with us.  

Getting to see everyone else in the talent contest, you guys were all great. (I've had "Roll Your Leg Over" stuck in my head ever since then).

Floating and socializing where I could, plenty of fun RP to be had.

Getting a better grasp of where I want to take my character.

Lowlights

Missing most of the poetry and storytelling contest.

Staying at the sketchy Capri Mtel.

Being a bit tuckered and not hanging out enough after the ball.

Some things I forgot to post in my last comments...

1. Soup soup.
2. Friggin giant rat (and the dry-cleaning bill he caused on my fancy shirt). 
3. I have new respect for walking/standing in heels/boots on hard floors.
4. Jackie is a super-hero in her mask.
5. Sobriety checkpoint, super heavy fog, and GPS giving weird directions made for a long commute home.

I had a blast and discovered I need to socialize more with non-human races and get over [strike]my[/strike] my character's xenophobia.

This was my first ball and wow, what an event! It's a nice break from the usual event. Any who, on to Highlights.

- The hall itself was great. It really help set the atmosphere.
- For the cooks who fed us, we continue to feed your ego. Everything was fantastic.
- The entertainment stood superb, to the point where anything we celts did merely highlighted how good everyone else was.
- Carrying the trend of a little miscommunication and misunderstanding leading to a whole mess of antics. To whom it may concern, this is far from over.
- Meeting more people, always fun.

Lowlight- The drive wasn't all that wonderful, but wasn't too bad.

Oh boy oh boy oh boy. Let's see here...

1) All of the contests were lots of fun. Thank you Celts for singing Old Lord Pyre... probably my favorite song in existence
2) FOOD! of course.
3) Lots of great Remi moments, including
Apollo: (of superbacon) When I put that meat in my mouth, I am flooded with joy that I simply can't contain.
Remi: .... that's what she said?
4) Realizing that Remi's naivety is going to make her story incredibly interesting.
5) Getting presents from Sorrel. Watch carefully- I doubt you'll ever see Remi without them ever again.
6) Having no less than 15 people tell either myself or Paige that they thought we should've placed in the talent contest. Thank you so much for the compliments! Your enjoyment makes it entirely worthwhile for Remi to embarrass herself (and others) as often as possible

Finally, definitely the best highlight of the Ball by far...

I brought four new players to this event. Every single one of them told me that they'd had a better time than they could have ever imagined, that they were incredibly impressed by the standards of costuming and roleplay they encountered, and that they couldn't wait to come to a full weekend event. I really can't express to you how much I love bringing new people to this game, and having them enjoy it just as much as I do. Every last one of you deserves a hug!
