I think it would be nice to hear from others here, since 2012 was one of the best years I've had at KR since starting in 2004.
1. James as Xualla
2. Skimmeltaur
3. Judge is a vampire - again, and Hunger Games: Travance Edition (alt event)
4. Rayne vs Orias

1. Chroniclerite plot hands down made me exceedingly happy.
2. Going from batshit insane to sane to a little crazy again. Thank you Ben for putting up with my special brand of nuts as Dr. Maxwell.
3. All my various kidnappings. Not sure if being called Rosa 2.0 is a good thing.
4. Judge's Pesmerga still gives me nightmares but throwing rotten cabbage at James was kind of frickin' awesome. Great RP right there.
5. Being a zombie during zombie weekend. SO MUCH TASTY TASTY BLOOD!
6. Seeing two of Misaki's dreams come true. It's always nice to see hard work pay off.
7. Dying and feeling all the Pendarvin love from Archer and Antrim. Very happy with my choice of land.

My first Sorcery ritual, on my own and not as an assistant.
Late night philosophical discussions at Week in the Life.
Grandstudents! It's amazing seeing your legacy being handed down to others.
Seeing the Land System go live, at long last.
The regular Baronial Council meetings are good, and only more good will come of them.
Finding multiple players near me, OOG, to carpool with. I'd been driving alone for years, it seems...
Looking forward to an even better 2013!

Started the year as a Priest/Inquisitor/Torturer and a very accomplished Ceremonialist. Ended the year as a Warrior/Mage and a very accomplished Sorcerer.
In reference to the above, was a Jack of all trades and a master of none. Now I ama Master of all.
The Land System. Notes and inter-relations first put down over 5 years ago. Elephants take less time to gestate than Matt White does with an idea. My old company produced a finished game for market from concept to distribution in less time. Still, it is on line and will include everyone, eventually.
Finding a niche - filling said niche.
Oh, most important - surviving a rough year OOG.

2. Getting rid of the Relic of Peace
3. Going from "generic redneck" to "redneck Robert Goren of Law and Order: Travance"
3a. Finding that people LOVE having their statement taken in regards to Town Guard stuff.
I'm sure I'll add more to this list as I think.

I have to say this whole year was great. epic sine the first moment i walked in. But the best things that have happened this year were a number of awsome things.
1) magical combat pit.
2) the Cragmore mod, truly fun.
3) learning from the other hunters. Its funny how i began my first year learning and a the end of the year I am teaching.
But at the end of it all I have to say every moment was a blast. This was an epic year and I hope for many more to come.

Wow this year went fast. Way too many good moments to all put down in a message, so I guess here's the best of the best:
1) Running January plot w/Zach. I think I'm STILL exhausted from that, but people still mention how great it was.
2) Master Lists! So much to learn, so little time...
3) A HUGE amount of growth in Misaki, both emotionally and mentally. He's so much wiser now well, sometimes...
4) Alt event amazingness. jamesckimball.com/pull_my_pants_up_wench
5) Witch Hunter Madness and my own nickname! The Leashed, the Wooded, the Nemesis, whatever it is. Still good times.
but most of all...
6) SEEING ALL MY FRIENDS! Seriously, this year was one heck of a roller coaster of a ride for me, but one thing stayed the same: the love and compassion of my KR family.
From all of me to all of you, Happy Holidays, hopefully a 2013, and get ready for some craziness next year
Cyril

15-second vampire mod,
Finally getting to play a freaking awesome NPC
The arrival of Doctor Viktor Solvei. (aka: the outrageously dressed traveling doctor)
My first higher list.
Being involved in a plot, even while I was taking a break from that character.
More to come later.

In no particular order:

- Tortured Soul! (and the months leading up to it were great)
- Ritual of Purity Mod via Judge
- Soul Harvesters, Arch Demons, and the world ending, oh my.
- Killing Maligno
- Bottle Mods (any of them)
- Concealed Barrage
-Valeria

I promise I won't run half of the events for 2013.
For the first time in my KR career, I played an alt this year.
Going from a tank to a glass cannon. More fun than expected.
Getting promoted to Staff. This was kind of the biggest highlight of my year.
2013: The year Steve Oros actually PLAYS Knight Realms. (I think... maybe.)

Yup, same here, Joe (My friends who brought me said that it was the first time they'd been genuinely scared at KR).
Being known as the Flute Girl and for my musicality.

The New Gaaldronian army was an absolute dream to be a part of.
Meeting so many new people and being introduced to the wonder of KR. Honestly, thank you everybody for this new hobby and filling my life with a bit more excitement!

I have to say being involved in the new player zone and seeing the enjoyment newer players get from that area is a real highlight for me. It is a real joy for me to dream up adventures for that area and bring them to life.
Winning a good poker hand now and again is always a highlight !
And a few I can not discuss

2012 Was a Crazy and a Amazing Year where to begin
. Well meeting new people and making old friendships stronger
. Being completely surprised to learn my first higher list, the best part Count Winterdark being my teacher.
.Making my way up in Ostcliff from it being a Guild to Land.
. Being a Vassal moved up to Proven Vassal, then to Warden, then a Praetor of Ostcliff and now I'm a Squire. Wouldn't want it any other way.
.Learning a Second higher list from No other than Steve :)
.My first alt-event...AWESOME. Judge playing Pesmerga so EPIC. Everyones RP was wicked. and of course James being pelted by tomatoes and lettuce Priceless.
.Last but not least being nominated for PC of the Year! When I saw this my jaw dropped I couldn't be more honored. Thank You.
. Big Thanks to My KR family, lets have an even better and more Epic new year!

My memory is horrible but here are some of the ones I remember:
-The whole Wormwood fiasco. Not only did I have to go a good four months of people telling me not to talk to him or go anywhere alone with him but I also got kicked out of the house of Na.
- Along those lines getting called mean names from people in Ostcliff while disowned.
-Ming and Ava's Charm war. Followed by getting let back into the family right as Ostcliff became a land.
- Finally learned chaos warrior and it being as rewarding for Ava to have as I had hoped
-Marriage and Divorce from Jack gave some good roleplay
-Courting by Zelretch.... which is late night fistycuffs.
-Racking up some insanities, now Ava is as crazy as people tell her she is!
I'll probably remember more :)

I've Got a few favorites;
All of Travanaces new Squires, Its made Role Play and Game Play alot of fun for me now that there are so many mid level squires.
Toravisu, Tobar, Winks - Some Great Teachers and Friends
Great Role play and Mentoring from Aleister (when steve isnt running eveything!)
A great and unexpected Friendship with Ming Na for some added flavor.
Treasure hunting is probably one of my favorite thing to do, always a success with Aquene or Tobar - sometimes a gypsy's luck pays off - Cypher has a similar luck when finding treasure.
Getting to go behind enemy lines as Clan Brockles
And far too many more to count.

Well, it was my first year at Knight Realms (funny how my first event was actually january) and picking out highlights will probably be really hard. Let's see.
-Meeting all of awesome people here, obviously. So many new friends and great experiences, both in and out of game!
-getting to knock a celt on his ass with a few choice words, and thus cementing mirwen's friendship with anhil.
-joining the mage's guild, and all of the roleplay that came out of that... teehee. related: I will never ever live down misspeaking during november's event. Ever. But, the resolution was awesome.
-all sorts of general shenanigans as more friends from school and home joined game.
-Infected mod. i was waiting for it and i'm pretty sure i still screamed once lay-on happened.
-Singing at the ball!
-Xualla. OH MY GOD XUALLA.
-getting approved for a higher list, should i choose to take it~
-nominated best new player!! i have no words for that...other than thank you!

This year was one of the best i have to say since i started in 2005.
I must say out of all the events being Killed and holding a strong dislike and still holding it, but playing nice with the guild to keep learn what is needed so Raxas can become a better witch hunter is so much fun.
Learning my first higher list.
Bringing in a Celt to the Deldragon family.
Being level 14 with so many Incaps as Ian so much fun.
Playing an NPC that i was told he wanted to live and been playing a very smart evil character planting seeds slowly.
I also think this has been the first year since playing Raxas that i have felt scared as him but powerful as the same time!
Here's to a better year in 2013!

Playing only one character for a long time engrains you with a certain group of people you talk to on the regular basis. Taking that into consideration, I would say my highlights would be every second of playing Clove since it gave me a whole new set of people to interact with.

Well it has been nearly 8 years since I have LARPed with any regularity, but this past May I decided to give Knight Realms a shot. I must say, I am most impressed! There have many highlights but all of them were outshined by the overall environment of KR. From the staff to the everyday players, everyone has been extremely welcoming and kind. I have been to games where new players are thought of as almost intruders, but not here at KR! So a big THANK YOU to everyone!
Also, thanks to everyone for the nomination as NPC of the year! It really means a lot to me to get a nod when I never got to play a BIG bad guy all year! But be ready for some serious shenanigans when I start PCing this Spring/Summer!

The shadow creature grabbing me. Thoughts both IG and OOG - oh ****
Finally deciphering that word cipher after 3 hours on the plane! I almost shouted in annoyance, but It was funny.
Hearing Amizar's Lore: History lesson, then chilling in the inn until it got raided.
Missing my prospective bard student AGAIN after promising to teach her something.

Given I NPC'd for a decent time before coming in this year...I must say PC'ing has made the experience a bit more rewarding then NPC'ing. That being said...I had a tremendously fun time interacting and trying on new roles as I was given them. King Dap is still by far my favorite NPC role and only a handful of people even met his craziness (Dap even got a wife!)
Getting to play out my strengths as Dimetri - and of course learning about being a gypsy in tried and true ways.
I agree with many...1-2-3 Zombie attack was by far the best opening in game I have experienced.
Crazy run through a Bedouin temple and experiencing Tanis rampaging through
Yhatzi explosion!
A nod to Best Male costume made me both elated and thankful to the Seamstress for her help : )
Having so many people enjoy and thank me personally for the Chicken Cacciatore feast. I made my Mother proud with that tale.
And of course making so many new friends IG as well OOG.

Finally relenting and joining the KR community just after sandy hit was amazing! It's been a whirlwind of awesome experiences and great people, and i've only been to two events!
The number one memory I have is a bit surreal, and I'm not sure why it happened this way, but on my second event as I was walking over to find the smiths as Henry MacGabhann I spotted Gideon at work. It was almost like the light just sorta faded from the room, and the only sorce of light came from his hammer as he worked on some armor or a weapon, but the glow of the hammer lighting up his face in the darkness was just this kinda "Wow" moment as a player, and a total nerd out moment for my character.

This is going to be difficult, there are just so many amazing high lights from this year! Knight Realms is one of the only things that made 2012 not suck for me!
January- I was at this event. The only thing I remember though is nearly getting hypothermia on main mod.
February-The amazing honor duel between Misaki and Baoyu, and seeing Misaki's face drop when Baoyu told him that Kamei and himself were to be wed. Great role-play all around!
February-Getting close to completing the Physician list with Kamei, been working at it forever!
March-Completing a part of Kamei's back story. I want to personally thank Steve and Vince for such an amazing and well thought out plot for Kamei. It really helped her grow as a character and I couldn't ask for more.
Alt Event- The alt event was the BEST event EVER. This really made me up my role-play for the events following. It was very much well laid out.
Alt Event- I think the best part of the alt event was to see people playing characters outside of their comfort zone and getting to watch everyone interact. Also...VAMPIRES! <3
April- Marking my three years at Knight Realms! The thing I most remember about April was Brian Hahn being a scary man on sword plot. And great sword RP with Matt C.
May- Luminista's bachelorette party. A fantastic wedding down at the gypsy caravans with food, flowers, drinks and cake! Everything was beautiful and really nice. <3 Also "Remi, Imma letchu finish, but I am here to do this wedding" - Kwildar =P
May- Finishing up my back story mod as Kamei. Also bringing in David as Tatsuya, her cousin. And possibly the best story from any game, which is completely OOG: " holding hands with a ninja (aka. Steve)
*walking down to the lake platform*
Steve: Shannon..why're we holding hands?
Me: ..I have no idea -swinging hands comically as we're "walking through underground tunnels"-
Steve:....Are we going on a date of murder?
Me: Yes Steve, we're going on a date of murder, it's the best kind of date, and we'll bond so much and it will be fantastic"
Week in the life- So, this was one of the best weekends at Knight Realms. Kamei's wedding day (which didn't happen). Where Baoyu got kidnapped, tortured, killed and reanimated, only to come back and be CRAZY as all hell. Still have to fix everything wrong with him, believe me, it's a lot. Having him in a fit of mental illness tell everyone Kamei's biggest secret. Making Mother Rosa tear up as Kamei explained to Baoyu that she does still love him and his words would not affect her while he was under mental issues (I love being a physician for that reason, you don't take anything to heart when people are crazy). Adam and I sitting and stuffing our faces full of cake during main mod was awesome. Also, saving a bunch of gypsies because of a complex lock that I gave them, I felt amazing
June- This event was probably my number 1 event in the almost four years I've been playing Knight Realms. Lay-on was the scariest lay-on I've ever witnessed and not to mention from the beginning Kamei was useful as anything! My favorite high light of this event was "Best highlight was me getting infected by Judge's infected baby-belt thing. Being dragged from the roof of the stump down in front of everyone, being made into a human shield, both arms being broken and getting a chunk taken out of me and getting infected. Screaming louder than I ever have, laying on the ground just bawling my eyes out, screaming out why no one was helping me as this thing stood over me. Then being picked up by the arms and crying out again. I think I scarred the people of Ostcliff pretty good!" That was the best role play opportunity I have ever had at Knight Realms, and I've had some pretty good ones. Also, finally dealing with Kamei's celt problem, after hiding from him almost the entire event, and almost taking a death over it. Yeahhhhh role-play!
July- Skipped, anime convention!
August- My best high light from this game was a oog one. Maxy came back to game for an event after two years <3 I missed him a lot. The best IG moments however was the giant fighting circle, which I got to sit at for six hours and heal people. I love and hate being a physician some times. Though, I think my most "omg" moment from the circle was when Orias was fighting, got downed and thrown out of the circle in front of me and having no assistance from Kwildar or anyone to heal him. Kamei was very ticked over this and actually ended up using healing stuff on him afterwards because people were being jerks.
Also...Vince in that body suit XD <3
September- Cute family moments with Sergei and Boryev, as Luminista. Getting to have amazing role-play moments with Judge at Jed's shack down in Alisandria for about four hours. Holy Valosian murder-skirt with Keillor. HOLY SKIMMELTAUR, BATMAN!
October- Awesome Necromancer mod with Zipeto. Kamei's knowledge of the area was very useful! Introduction to Rayne and playing one of the NPC's he round house decapped. It's glorious when you see the hope drain out of some people's faces when you say "no effect" on regular damage as an NPC. Sanniyah's wedding, which was super adorable and amazing. And..Favorite quote: "So, we were talking about a mod that's going down later that involves tentacles. We were all like 'we need to get the khitan involved, especially Kamei.' " I laughed and laughed. And I realized, I love my friends a lot.
Ball- Getting to re-wear my senior prom dress Knight Realms style! So just a few little high lights- singing competition, giant dragon interruption, story telling competition with Lord Aleister, Hookah and gypsy corner. Also, Seamus and Lumi trading masks for one of the most adorable pictures ever.
November- Skipped, because of it being too darn cold!!
December- Skipped, also too cold! (Make it warmer, please? )= )
Thank you all for a wonderful year! Getting to move to New Jersey and being closer to my friends has made me enjoy Knight Realms a lot more. Even after almost four years this game is still amazing to me and there is such great role-play. I'll admit some events are more enjoyable than others due to some personal issues but overall I love this game and the people running it/playing in it. <3

It's not often I write these things, but I figured I would do this one.
Becoming an officer: I really enjoy working on this game! Now while it may get stressful at times seeing everyone enjoying themselves reminds me why I signed up for this crazyness in the first place. To all the players, marshals, and other staff thank you!
Skimmeltaur: Everything from getting to see bits of the process as Jake put on the prothestics to the first time he walked on the field was awesome. Of course with the rain he got stuck inside after having some pictures taken before he first came out IG. The faces on the few people who got a sneak preview was awesome, and then suddenly having to tell them all it wasn't there.
Lay On Zombies: I missed this because I was still in logistics, but got to hear all the stories as the NPCs came back. However the big highlight of that event was after main mod in Alisandria. A small group of us got to scry on where this all started. The realization of what this was leading up to was just great OOG, but IG the future seemed grim.
Khitan Plot: Working with Chris Goley to finally wrap up an old plot which I could rightfully do since retiring my Khitan character (to everyone that misses Bikomi I apologize). By all rights the ritual to cleanse the taint should have failed with everything that was missing, but they had just the right thing to make it work.
Return of the Halfings! : Getting to reprise the role of our tabletop characters turned alt event characters was fun, especially since we've been to Ravenloft as the tabletop characters. Then getting to once again come back during Week in the Life for Pie Day, the greatest of all halfing holidays! Oh, and of course at the alt event watching James get pelted by vegetables!
Xualla: Becoming in charge of the dragoons for the past few months have been interesting, especially with all the new/newer ones around. Fast forward to Thursday before the December event, and helping with testing the fire set up. Suffice to say it was even more awesome to see the live run of one of the most epic encounters I've been involved in in my time LARPing (really only one other encounter is up there with it).
In the end this has been one hell of a year, and I know it's gearing up to even bigger things in 2013 (hopefully especially so for us Dragoons).
