Friday:
Camp set up was fun, especially when James said, "Bill, Smash!" And then i did, shattering several rocks that needed to be broken so we could dig holes for the drow cave. I got out of a lot of aggression.
NPC shift was great! I love getting sent out as a random monster, though sometimes I wish I could get sent out as a more-sentient one occasionally just so I could have some fun repartee with the PCs before proceeding to try to murder 'em A fun highlight was getting so into my role as a Nosferatu that I was chasing a kitiaran healer across half of Kaladonia only to get my butt kicked by Orion after an actual high-speed collision as we charged each other. (everyone was okay, fortunately, but you could tell everyone was pumped as heck.)
Getting killed by Magnus when he was surrounded by 5 nosferatu was also beautiful. STAKE STAKE STAKE STAKE STAKE DONE.
Trolling the light church with dark clergy and living to tell about it by some quick-witted misdirection when I woke up (and some foolishness on the part of the light clergy as they pulled a glommite holy symbol off my body when i was KOed and didn't react to it was amusing). My cleric asked about his friends, wandered about looking confused, then ran away sensibly.
Saturday 2-6 am.
Running around in the dark mostly missing vampires was a bit annoying. Grim understands the tactics of that scout fellow but he finds them annoyingly slow and conservative. But he's a berserker so his approach is always highly aggressive when presented with an overly hostile force.
BARBARIAN MOD TIEM. Oh man this was great. Getting to meet Wulfgar, run around a barrow full of ancient draugr and run into tests of battle skill, honor, and puzzles was amazing. Grim now admires Wulfgar tremendously, and his reuniting with his teacher Lar was a thing of joy for him. They even did this chant as they walked towards the end of the barrow.
Saturday morning guard meeting was a lot of fun, mostly because it kept getting interrupted by demons and stuff.
Lunch down with the Dwarven paths guys was super nice.
Grim's lesson on courage and intercept from Annora was amazing, and he's starting to really enjoy working with his teacher/mentor.
Grim learning 1h edge weapons from Augustus and everyone else was also fun, though we quickly learned he's still a power fighter not a finesse warrior
Following up on caldor's plot with the hermit was fun, even if Grim almost did get into trouble for "disobeying orders" .
Main mod was bleedin brilliant, I loved, loved, LOVED the archer-centric nature of it, though the organizational setup before it was a shambolic mess (until wulfgar showed up and sorted us out a bit)
Post main mod I tried to nap, thought I was hallucinating as undead charged the inn, realized I was not, leaped off the bench and started murdering faces.
The True Warlock in the Blighted Keep mod was a great concept, had a lot of great things going for it, and I mostly had fun. I wish people would be a bit more understanding and calmer at night after main mod, since we're all tired we shouldn't swing quite so hard.
Feast was really interesting and roleplay heavy as Grim held another barbarian prisoner for murder for the duration of it, and learned about the dragon swords from Annora and Croi.
Sunday with Grim's birthday at the Dwarven Path's pavilion was everything I'd hoped. Demons adn Chaos warriors jumping out for Grim to go and kill in between bites of chicken and cake, a really interesting conversation with the head of the mages' guild, some wheeling and dealing with Verrill, and of course more awesome roleplay with everyone, including some hilarious nagging from Aella about grim getting a wife to fight his battles for him.
The brotherhood with a certain doctor and Augustus increased to maximum bro this event, that was great. Blood brothers and guardbros! Getting characters's backstory and talking about our role models was really interesting as well. The moment when grim and Augustus talked about what the witch-hunters would have wanted in a funeral vs. fighting a true warlock was a cool thing.
Caelvan's master warrior lesson was also great, and so was helping to teach gideon slam even if it meant I spent a lot of the time on the ground. Sorry about accidentally getting you in the face while trying to block like 3 people at once with my two-hander, karen, I feel mega-bad about it, hope you aren't bruised too bad.
All in all, great event. Especially all the tag skills as birthday punches that hit me

There are too many things to put here.
Thank you, Judge, for your trust in me as a player and for being the silliest goddamn person I've met in years.
Thank you, KR, for singing along with me. Seriously, every time you do it, i feel like my heart is going to jump out of my chest.
Alice, Dustin, you're both really good at breaking Croí's heart with Angiliana and Jun, just fyi.
Teresa, <3 goddammit that bracelet.....
This game <3 it really really gets in my gut sometimes.

Also, goblins and gypsies agree, Angeliana is a racist. Just ask Winks and Iuzzini.

There's a lot to put here, but I'll try to make it short:
-Getting to help Matt Defranza hook a cool lowbie-centric mod that I ended up PCing briefly on the next night
-Getting to help Brian Hahn and Norm B with some important RP
-New player mod! You guys were cool - thanks for keeping the 3 NPCs in their toes
-Pesmerga fight. Seriously awesome. And emotional. I feel like this was an important character-building moment for many people, and I know it was for Lorelai.
-Down to one life tag, Whoops.
-All sorts of RP related to the deaths, the people involved in the fight, and those left behind.
-Helping fight demons and various other things
-Caldor's jinx mod and JR's fantastic RP. I was thrilled that I accidentally got to be helpful! And Aella got to use trick shot!
-Squire interviews - can't say I wasn't nervous, but this was sort of fun, and the snacks were really good
-Gazebo fight
-Several important conversations, shopping at DwarvenPaths for DAYS, and a probable new student for Lorelai.
-Getting Orophin(sp? Tim) a gift for his birthday, and the surprise on his face. Next stop: sorcery
-Sneaking Sean on to the camp at midnight only to have everyone be completely baffled by his presence on Sunday - you're crazy, man
-Lorelai and Anhil and their ridiculous inability to communicate
-The light in Erdrick's eyes when I told him I'd learned civil service.
-At least one stupid thing that will be an issue next month
-Broken boots =(
There is SO much more, but suffice to say, a fun and interesting event. Thank you to Albert, Anhil, Mirwenne (hahaha), Wolfgar and a huge thank you to Lethias, Kwildar, Keillor and Shamis, for fantastic RP and great scenes.

Coming into Travance on Saturday and immediately hearing how 4 hunters died.
Goggs trying to climb a tree over several suits of armor and then being hit with a javelin and falling down. Some day one of those ideas might work.
Leaving the armory/baronial library and 5 minutes later hearing there were water elemental attacking it.
Meting Klarington Everest and heading off through a portal. More doomsday things in Travance.
Finding out Faila got downed from the water elementals and then hearing how she was brought down again by a chaotically altered Goggs.
Main mod was awesome.

It was great to see everyone, since this was my first time back since Week in the Life. I was a little disappointed in the humidity, because I was so excited to be able to wear my new healy robe, but at least it was cool enough at night to don it. And I did get to use the very odd but somehow charismatic hat I found full time.
As usual, everyone is a pleasure and makes the experience nothing but lovely and a welcome respite from the stress of the muggle world. Seriously. Cheapest therapy ever.
Friday night was simply amazing. I was going nonstop from lay on to 6:30 am. I don’t think I’ve ever been to an event where I was constantly involved in ALL THE THINGS in one single night. I loved it! (It’s the first time I ever ran out of healing points in a NIGHT! Lol)
The new player mod was probably the most active and awesome I’ve yet seen (and I try to accompany them each time because, well, is it ever a BAD thing to have a healer in a group? Lol) From skeletons, to demons to vampires… I think perhaps we got a little off track, because I definitely had to get more than a few folks up off the ground, but I think it made it way more exciting for everyone to have that element of chaos. One of the new folks even ate a demon heart and was soundly scolded for it. Also, all of the new players had great personalities. The new Kitieran’s makeup was wonderful! And the creepy new Nyad… nice work.
Yeah, about that Caledonia escort fiasco… Afterward, when Imrahil and I were walking back by our lonesome, my extreme (but often handy) larp paranoia detected footsteps in the brush that weren’t ours. It only took me saying “Stop!” three times before Imrahil actually LISTENED, but by then they were upon us. (Apparently Nosferatu? Damn.) Cue moments of terribly timed indecision and my urging him to run… and him being too monkly to do so. He swears he said to just run and get help, but I never heard him say it. (That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!)
I finally did run when Imrahil got dropped, but with such terrible guilt for leaving him that I turned around and came back thinking, “I guess I have to fight them, then, because I really can’t leave him.” But them the realization of being a lowbie healer and having neither the tricks nor the armor to play hero, I freaked and ran, again with one hot on my heels. I nearly totaled myself like three times on the random pieces of wood and firepits, but suffered only a fright and a quickbind before Caledonians came to the rescue. Fun times! (Yes, and Imrahil was okay!)
Getting to spend time with the gypsies is always wonderful. Being “adopted” during Week in the Life and then meeting “Uncle Yossini” this event… Omg, how hilarious were you? I’m so glad I didn’t ignore your shocking questions on Friday evening, or I may never have known to pal around with you in some of the craziness so we could laugh our asses off during serious times.
Such as how funny the word “puddle” is while we are marching off to WAR. Da? Da!
It was wonderful learning healing arts from him, too (though not as funny for Angeliana who was mortified at the idea of Yossini teaching how to heal a limb. We laughed so MUCH!) and getting schooled in the Romany ways so that I may be an official Romany Enthusiast. Finally, Swyft has found people who understand her silliness!
Keavy, I loved our crazy combat splint healing. I told her it was like two fugitives being handcuffed together and trying to run out of the way of ALL the things. We managed it, though. So exciting!
Goggins, your little hook-shot machine is a wonderful little security I have, now. Thank-you so much! As always, you are a delight!
Can’t forget the ridiculousness of Pezmerga just walking into the Bloody Stump like he owned it. He and his buddies totally made us burn the hot dogs. Oh, by the way that was freakin’ horrifying, yes. The lot of us gathered like frightened mice in the corner while he Death Touched folks all around. Three of us thought to hide behind the bar. It worked, and in this way I was able to revive some folks. Everyone seemed really perplexed that Pezmerga showed up, because apparently a load of folks went into the Spirit World to deal with him… (Also, good call on having a HELP US horn…)
Barbarian Mod craziness was really something. I was just marching back from the negative plane mod (which was super fun being a technical power house since I was level 4 and everyone over level 10 was nerfed. ? I especially liked helping to hold the front line and poking things when necessary. ) when I saw a group of folks heading off, so I joined up like I belonged there and happened to find Imrahil, too. Of course, turns out that was a pretty high level mod.
We were up until 6:3am bargaining with Barbarian statues and then entering the Silent Hill field of FOOOOOGGGGG. I mean, terrifying. And of course, that’s when we got jumped by all the powerful things. Folks dropped all around me faster than us myself and the other healer could keep them up! I did a fair amount of fleeing and dodging but a 100 point hit dropped me readily. It was a nice rest, granted, chilling in the grass after all that madness but I was so sad when just about EVERYONE dropped and they couldn’t find me. One of the NPCs took pity on me and tossed my body over to where everyone was panicking, so the healing could resume… but hardly. I had to use my last healing salve and do empathic healing as a last resort… and then take on a broken arm. Ah, the sacrifices!
Cooking Feast with Luis and co. was a wonderful experience, yet again! Thank-you for the great time!
Dr. Maxwell saved me from making the same mistake as I did in Week in the Life walking off with someone on NPC shift that I didn’t realize was on an NPC shift… because I’m a dumbass… but anyhoo, the good doctor raised an eyebrow and followed over to Drega’Mire where the lad needed guiding… apparently. And from there, he was good enough to remove my last insanity.
Clove and his baby mouse, Sleeves. How perfect for a druid such as he ! Will he be returning with you next time? (And no, only the heathen Jaxuarians eat baby mice for fun!)
The lowbie mage mod mid-day Saturday was AMAZINGLY fun. It was great actually having a bit of a challenge without super high-level players. Being the only healer (I think?) was a LOT of work, oh boy! Folks were getting dropped left and right so quickly my head was spinning. On top of that, I had to dodge attacks (especially fire, yikes) while scanning for the fallen and healing them up. Doing battle with things that didn’t kill me in a hit or two was very fun, healer or not. I even got to drop someone! (Thank-you to the NPC, I don’t get many of those!) Healing points wiped out, again!!! Well worth, it, though. Everyone was great, a lot of cohesion and watching out for each others’ back. Good show!
Finally got to learn a spell from Gwenyth! She’s so lovely. It’s thanks to Gwenyth that I match as well as I do. She has the best trinkets, I swear! She’s also a great conversationalist. And now, because of her, I know how to Spirit Tether. ?
Finally, a nice woman in blue (I am so bad with names, I’m sorry!) noticed my frantic combat healing amongst the town guard. She put in a word for me with Magnus, who agreed to have me on the guard so long as I attend three meetings. Here’s hoping that the patrol counted as one! Very excited for these prospects…
Looking for Jack Dims’ sword was something. I guess a rat person stole his shield, too. He was fairly upset. And drunk. Drunk enough that I had to cleanse him of poisons!
Hanging out with folks from Ostcliff and learning how they started was great! What a friendly lot! I had no idea they started out as a giant guild that become a land and that they were so new. I just assumed they were one of the power houses, so … fake it ‘till you make it, I guess!
The sparring between Shiku and Corey got kind of epic when Chase did some magical mischief. For a learning session, there sure were a lot of limbs to splint and regrow...
And of course, walking with Jonas... always amusing. Thanks for a great weekend!

Healing points wiped out, again!!!

It was so good being back to visit and seeing everyone. Some quick highlights;
The sheer number of people trying to convince Rosa not to go fight Pesmerga only to realize you would have to drag her kicking and screaming to that fight. The group of people left at the bar shaking their heads when everyone went off to die was fairly telling. Also having to comfort all the people who "didn't get to say goodbye" to those who died.
An argument Friday night between Rosa and WW that almost ended in swords being drawn. Thankfully for Rosa, Antirm was there to cool tempers, or it might have ended poorly for her.
Had some very long talks with old friends that made Rosa feel all warm and fuzzy. Glad to know she hasn't been forgotten in the intervening year or so.
Had a great bard mod with Katie and I was amazed at how quickly the Baroness picked up a song on the recorder. Man, I am so grateful she has such talent. :) It was beautiful and relaxing to listen to.
Bringing all the people who never got to say goodbye to angelic Kwildar so they would have their chance for last moments but not being able to say it herself.
Also, interesting having to do my first resurrection in over a year. Normally there is so many other jumping up to do it Rosa really doesn't need to go, it was strange to be asked to help.
All in all, an amazing weekend. I missed everyone and I look forward to the next visit. :)

MIGHT HAVE??!! I recall a mod ( many years back) where it went something like this:
ROSA "Two damage, two damage, two damage."
CREATURE (without turning around, backhand sword strikes her "Eight Damage."
Rosa falls. I lay hands on her.

Repeat ad infinitum.

Hah, you recall correctly Charlie. Although it would be a much more interesting fight these days. Also in my defense, I was being controlled to keep fighting there, not doing it out of sheer stupidity.

whew... cant believe it took so long for me to get the free time to do this, okay where to begin...
took my first death Saturday morning, guess my luck was finally worn thin after the previous night, even with considerable resistance I just couldn't get away in the end, but as a result became well acquainted with Lucien I believe it was whom I must thank for interceding in herrister and my "heated" discussion, man the guy always seems to know exactly when im most exhausted to get his point across, trick tricky saved me big there man.
not to mention the awkwardness during my resurrection that left me with some self reflection, but nevertheless failed to exorcise the greediness from me
lets see cant exactly remember what happened at the merchant's inquiry, I swear master haroldson I wasn't just nodding my head while actually half-asleep and if some of my speech was slurred and slight gibberish, its always that way... I promise
either way I can always trust my advisor to help me interpret lectures I did NOT, I repeat, sleep through
interpreted some new tips from my new man Lucien to aid in my continuing reorganization of the company
some fun roleplay with dominic where some of Lucius's secret history was revealed... remember its a secret
dwarven paths- you never out drink ostcliff I believe that was made abundantly clear that night, every drink will just make us thirstier at least that's the case for me
oh and lets not forget stupid hour... I cant exactly remember the details and the ones I do probably shouldn't be posted due to vulgarity but I can assure those whom weren't present it was a barrel of laughs
NPC-shift
even routine mods can become incredibly amusing when done right, such as air elemental hit and run tactics and annoying gnolls
