Heh, anyway, because they're foam rather than latex, they won't melt in the car or crack in the cold, and they last basically forever; hence the hefty price tag.
That said, we did just introduce a whole line of under $100 weapons for the LARPer on a budget. Combined with the KR discount, you should be able to get down to pretty close to what you were looking to spend. And again, unlike a latex weapon, you're only going to have to spend once.
