I called and spoke with the owner, and explained there will be a group of us in the area on November 14th, and asked if there was any chance of a group rate.  They are currently booking rooms at $80 / night, but if all 10 rooms are booked before October 30th, she'll lower it to $70 / night.

I've booked one room already, if you book one, please post here or PM me so I can verify when all 10 rooms are booked and make sure we're getting the lower rate.

Edit: Make sure you mention you're with Knight Realms, so she knows you're part of the group!

Just goes to show you what kind of place it is...    I expect to see many stolen hotel towels, robes, soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc...  ;D  Heck, if you can, grab some hotel bed sheets.  Those would make some great table covers for feast, walls for a mod, costuming/props for logistics...

I understand Tobar has something grander in mind - the entire structure.

I called and left a message with the motel, but I also plan on staying there.

I will be booking a room for the mckraegors/mcsweeny Clan sometime within the next day or too.

6 rooms have been booked - 4 left!  Book them before this weekend to be sure you get one, and we get the discount!

grrr...tried several times to call...kept getting a 'mailbox is full' message before finding out they are now all booked up...so what was that other nearby hotel's number? because a 4.5 hour drive + feast + drive back is NOT something I'm interested in...lol

I just spoke with the manager, she confirmed all rooms are booked for that weekend.

Does anybody know if they sent out confirmation emails or phone calls, or if you sent your email in that you were considered confirmed?

Just check hotels.com for the Hampton Inn if you want to stay there.  Or Search locations on their website.  I don't know the area for other hotels, but this one looks good

If anyone is still looking for a hotel room theres a place about 1 1/2 miles from the lake hotel called the capri motel, I called and they said its around $70 a room there so I think thats where the mckraegars and Mcsweenys will be staying.  The # is (845) 331-8400?.

Anyone who placed a reservation with The Lake Motel may want to try and contact the place.

I've attempted to get ahold of them to confirm my reservation but haven't been able to get anyone on the line, nor has anyone returned my messages.  What's more, there is a new message on the machine stating that the place is now under new management.

so the McBanes and 'Khitan-town' will also be staying at the Capri Motel...and we grabbed the last 2 rooms according to the guy I spoke with. I feel a little bad for any mundanes who might be there that weekend..lol

Thanks for being on top of things.  I am a little concerned considering they asked for our credit card information and suddenly there is a change with no messages or emails to the people who had reserved.

Please don't do something that will get KR a bad name.  Hotels have long memories, and will often blame "freaks" for things that other people did because it's easier to spot them.  (This is from 10+ years of attending and running Gaming cons - we regularly get blamed for problems caused by wedding parties, etc. in the hotel at the same time.)

I called the Lake Motel - they are indeed under new management, and the old manager didn't give them any information about the 14th, so they have nothing on record.  I spoke with the new manager directly, she re-confirmed everything with me, took my card, and asked that anyone else who had a room call her on her Cell to sort things out.  She was very nice and apologetic for the issues, but from what it sounds like it was beyond her control, and should be fixed once people call in.

Just talked to Barbara and reconfirmed my reservation.  Have to say it was much more professional than my dealings with the hotel last week.

We ended up booking at the Capri after everything was said and done. 

hey Michael...just curious, when did you guys book at the Capri? Because according to the guy I talked to on the 5th, I had gotten the last 2 rooms. So just wanna make sure they aren't over-booking themselves.

If you see other KR folks at your hotel, it might be a good idea to carpool from the Hotel to the Ball - given how tight parking is there, the more people we can fit into fewer cars, the better.

yeah carpooling is good. it would prolly also be cool to find out when exactly everyone wants to leave the ball.. some people stay later than others and if one person wants to leave early and the rest are staying that would stink for them.

on a side note. due to a hectic schedule and deciding to drive back after the ball, chris and i didn't renew our reservation for the hotel and considering its a pain to dress at the hall itself, i was wondering if I would be able to meet up with anyone at the hotel and possibly snatch their bathroom for a few quick moments before heading up there to actually get into costume and do make up and such? just PM me if anyone wouldn't mind
