When I was in  Italy, I tried a lot of wine and was introduced to sparkling  water.  I expect a full beer report from you.

Italians, are known for many great things... beer is not one of them.  I did find some nice Brooklyn Lager over here though.. at imported prices :-)

I ate four of the best things I've ever eaten in Italy, so if you have the opportunity I'd suggest:

- Deep fried artichoke (al guidia)
- Buffalo mozzarella (good on everything)
- prosciutto san daniele...do it.
- Lardo pizza. Seriously. Anything with Lardo. It's like bacon, but better. Way better.

Better than bacon?  Light the pyre, for sacrilege has been spoken.
Which cities will you be visiting?

Just got back... I spent a short time in Verona, one day in Venice, two days in Florence, two days in Rome, One day in Pompii and Sorento, and one day in a small town I think called Serra.  That's not including travel days.  It was fun.  Personally, I think as you go south the food and the women get better.  Or maybe just more like what I am used to.
