A very minor holiday.  Most Jewish holidays can be summed as follows:  "They tried to kill us, we won, let's eat."

Hey. I think that is a valid reason to celebrate.

Especially when your religion keeps getting shat on and prosecuted throughout the centuries.

And doubly so when you celebrate with a ton of delicious food, seriously, who complains about that?

A holiday dedicated to eating large quantities of food fried in oil, gambling with chocolate coins, playing with fire, and exchanging gifts with loved ones? What's not to love? Enjoy the Festival of Lights (I know I am)!

I fully endorse this as the basis for a holiday for anyone.  Not only is it an excellent method of celebration, it's practical too!  All that fighting works up an appetite. Mazel tov!
