Confessor Velasquez,
It is good to see you are alive and well, despite your apparent distaste for my own well-being. I hope those other members of your band of "Inquisitors" have made full recoveries from their near watery graves. If you are in need of any medical assistance, do not hesitate to send a raven my way while I tend to those wounded in Pandarvin.
Regarding the Branded, many of my comrades were not even allowed entry into the town until the Stranger's arrival and even then only sought the safety of the city for our people. So hold your tongue regarding us being cast outside the walls for crimes when some, like myself, were unable to enter because of my scars and former stations in life. The Branded and other Outcasts cared for our own and shared what we could with those who came with peaceful intentions. Ask Mrs. Knox or the eager Veterinarian who I instructed for a brief time if you would like to follow up on this with citizens of Sanctuary.
Regarding my "experiments", I never preformed medical treatment on anyone unwillingly. The vial of green liquid was a remedy I improvised on the island to quicken healing. Its something that I learned during my time serving in the Londwynian army as a field medic. If you note, not a single man or woman fell while I was near and allowed to tend to their wounds.
Regarding the symbols I bare, my personal philosophy is that one shouldn't hide their history. My burn scars come from my former friends turning on me due to my faith. My brand comes from being accepted into a group who judged me on my actions and not any predefined conceptions of good or evil. My raven-skull necklace reminds me of an event that changed my entire outlook on life and gave me the resolve to escaped the war-torn Fields of Mandalia.
Do not be so quick to judge others, less you also be judged. Not all of your comrades actions were in the name of the "Light," good Confessor. Just remember that those you condemn were the first to fight the great Dragon hoping only that our fall would give you all enough time to safeguard Mercy. And if what Dirge has said about a piece being safeguarded, then many of my fellows final wishes were satisfied.
To the many others who have responded, thank you for your kindness. I look forward to working with you all as we adjust to our new surroundings.

It warms my heart like the first rays of Valos's holy light every morning to hear that many survived the fall of Mercy. My captaìns words ring true. Templar Aldric and brother in arms against the darkness, we should vet and confess all those who came from Mercy. Many had lost their way from the light. I willing subject myself to confession in the name Valos.

I dinnae know exactly 'ow you Kormyrians 'andle rescue at Sea, but to cast in my pers'nal anikdote, there's no cases where you judge a Man thrashing for his Life in the Foam.
I've been at the loading end of scores of cannons, and have fed many foes to the Foam. But I never lef' a single soul I spied behind, if'n I could find them with even the most curs'ry of glances.
We 'ad a code on deck. A man whom the Sea deems fit fer us to find is fit fer us to let Live. Regardless of their past. 'N' if ye know 'em ta be shady characters, then that 'olds true especially regardin' their past in relation to ye, their patron. Their salvation.
Let us have Mercy upon those o' Mercy. If such a place could exist as to deem our most cursed souls worthy of salvation, it is the vast Sea, and if not the sea, then Mercy. Bein' as both Parties selected these mis'rabble souls to live, I'd say it's a matter of parlay 'n' pardon.
To th' blessed Kormyrian Church of Valos; Kinndly hook yourself, and mind yer own rudder.

Monsiuer,
The Lightbringers are not affiliates with the church of kormyre. We serve Prince Philip Faust and the Holy Valosian Church of Coast Haven. We ally ourselves with those who serve the one true king of kings, Valos. Often we find ot is best to investigate those rescued at sea because there is generally a reason it happened. The light of truth should shine on all subjects.

Reason is irrelevant. You and I are mere lice compared to the Sea. The Sea knows the reason. You, louse, 'ave no stake in it. Ye 'ave nothing to bring to the table, because in a bettin' game with the Sea, we lice will lose every time.
When goin' out with Sea, one bets not against Her, but against 'isself--'Is own judgement. If a man stood by 'is judgement at all times, what great, impossible winnings would ever have been gained? The world would be ravaged by more than just the Rift. I ask ye: bet against yer own judgement. For these lads n lasses, let chance judge whether 'twere reformed. I'll put me stakes in trustin' these folk.

Master Luxeuil, the hostility in your tone is disappointing for a new visitor to our Barony. The Church of Light has made no action or plan, that you seem so worried may occur. My affiliation with the Church and my Lord Valos ensures that I will Justly treat those I encounter from your former home or any other.
Perhaps we may speak to set your mind at ease, and aid you as I may?
