Q'aare'zl,

Last minute consideration. This truce must extend to Abyssal pacifism with regard to the Kingdom of Kormyre and all of her fiefs. Should Mother or Jailer engage in hostilities against any other subdivision of Kingdom of Kormyre, we will be forced to respond in support of that subdivision, against your Abyssal Legions.

Additionally, we must consider what taking this deal will mean for the rest of the World Powers on Palamydia, and how they will respond. Our neighbor Tameria responded most unfavorably with our last dealings with the dark, and has been hostile ever since. Ergo, you must extend protection at least to all of our Barony and Kingdom's allies, as well. The truce is unfavorable if it means we will be thrown into a war with the rest of the denizens of Arawyn for taking the deal regardless. Especially such a war, which would clearly take far longer than six months to resolve, at which point your Abyssal Legions could join the hostilities against us without penalty.

We cannot bind any of these other powers to agree to ceasing hostilities against Mother and Jailor, but at any given breach of the truce by any of these parties, you are within your rights to defend yourselves and respond accordingly to that given party. I believe Travance would support such defensive actions by the Abyssal Legions.

However, this deal is unfavorable to us until these points are addressed.

With Respect,
--Mantel Warrane

I received this letter to be posted here for all to see.

"This letter is written from the desk of Lord General Magnus by his squire’s hand.

The people of this town have stared oblivion in the eye time and time again, rising to meet any enemy that stands before us. Through our town’s strength and unity, we are capable of overcoming these foes, as we have with the many overwhelming odds we have faced before them.

It is now that I speak with the voices of those who are holding the line in the Chaos Wastes, patrolling the seas, or are scattered to the corners of Arawyn and unable to speak on the matter. Below are the names of those presently outside the proper who wish to share their disdain and utter rejection towards signing a pact with demons:

Lord General Magnus
Cinder Draa'Velven
Lumaneris Draa'Velven
Sorn
Squire Odette Lucatiel, Acolyte of the White Fox
Aikichi
Commodore Jun, The Pirate King
Dame Amalthea LAURENT-BELMONT, the Heart of Kaladonia
Father Utgard, Prophet of Enax
Kanas, Acolyte of the White Fox
Reno Roulette Tropicana
Squire Valanye

It is our most sincere hope that our words carry weight and are considered whilst Travance’s Barony deliberates on the matter."

I speak only for myself, a humble man who has mined for black diamonds beneath Southern Londwyn.

This contract opposes all that I stand for. I have refused to bow to tyrants who bear the disguise of humanity. I will not bow to a tyrant that does not hide their true intents. This "Mother" has manipulated the people of this land in the past, and has promised to do so again: consider that six months time is nothing to an immortal being. In this blink of an eye, this contract's so-called "cessation of hostilities" will be up, and all will be the same, except we will have knelt at the feet of a monster. It will be back-- a time without hostilities indicates a return to hostility. I will not stand idly by and allow a contract that belittles me to be signed when I have the most powerful weapon of all to bring to bear: a voice.

To any who would oppose this insult, I urge you to speak. Do not sheathe the sword that is your defiance.

But what do I know. I'm just a humble coal miner.

It seemed redundant to list it here, but for clarity's sake I wish this known.

The United Church of the Light refuses to harbor any agreement with the Lords of the Abyss. If this document is signed, it runs counter to every tenet of our beliefs. Despite one exception, the Church as a whole will not be associated with anyone who signs, nor will it consider binding any agreement made with Demons. The one exception will be counseled on her misunderstanding, and I am confident will realize her mistake.

We stand with all those who oppose this agreement, and will fight to defend our Barony as we always have from these invaders, no matter the Lord they serve.
