It has come to my attention through gathered information and rumor that perhaps Duke Balliol isn't the real Duke. Now before I continue, most of you know of some of the claims against the Duke, however I best feel it is a matter needed to be brought to public attention. Its something I know Pluvious would've wanted, the whole town working together to come up with a solution so that we can end the war and save the kingdom. Anyway, to the matter at hand, theres been rumors that this Duke Balliol is not the same man but younger, however there is the possibility that he could still be related, through blood. I've also heard that there is possibly a true warlock pulling the strings behind this man we believe is the Duke. These are just rumors I've heard while in my travels so im not saying these are the hard facts, but if anyone has any other information to gather on this it could very well be possible.

I can confirm Lucky's statement. We all not only saw it with our own eyes, but barely escaped with our lives and minds intact. If you wish a more detailed account, I would be pleased to give it.

Thank you for confirming my thoughts, my worry has been what this true warlock has the potential to do if he has fabricated the war we are in. Could it be that he has forced the younger Balliol to kill the older man we knew to be the Duke, thus giving him legitimacy to the title through succession of bloodline? What about the demon problem from the south? Could this true warlock be able to control those forces on his favor thus leaving the Duke and his men unsuspecting of the demon forces true potential? I have many questions that Ive pondered on and seek answers. I would gladly love to hear your stories of how you escaped and what you saw. Perhaps within the next moon I'd get the chance to sit down and learn more.

If we want to find out information on Duke Balliol or Chancellor Enzarond I suggest we drive our forces to take Anoch. The library there would have the best information we could get.
Or at least, that's what reliable sources believe.

I went back and reviewed the original Declaration of Rule the Duke signed, because I realized I recently have only seen him referred to as “Duke Balliol”. The initial declaration does list his full name, which does match the name of the man who has served as duke of Ravenhurst for some time. My memories are only slowly returning to me, but I will see if I can think if I’ve ever seen his signature or his face before in the years I lived in Robyrn.

Edger Balliol, or Edgar. One of those two is incorrect but I believe the pronunciation to be the same regardless of seeing it written both ways in scholarly works! My father, may he rest peacefully, served under him when he lorded over Glangsdale. Now, I do wish I could be of more assistance, but I was born a good distance away from where my father lived at the time and do not recall ever seeing the Duke's visage.

Whilst I originally agreed with the plan to take the library some time ago, its something that draws too much attention especially since it was brought up when all of the dragoons gathered to figure out the true purpose of the blades. However its a bold move that will give the enemy some indication that we know something that they do not and we all have agreed that bringing dragoon matters into the civil war is not something we need to do. Perhaps if there was a way to send spies to retrieve what we need, it would be more subtle than declaring to the enemy that we desperately need the library. Although you are correct we do need the library, we need to find a solution to getting the information we need without the enemy finding out. On the other note, I am from Ravenhurst and though I spent my youth throughought the land there, I never paid any mind to the politics or the lords and stayed out of their way. Hmm... does anyone else get the feeling that Enzarond might be the true warlock?

Oh yes! From the moment that he spake words at conversational volume right next to my head, appearing out of nowhere, I knew something was amiss with that fellow. His brother, the Magister, was having none of it when I said the Chancellor sent chills down my spine colder than that of the great Anteries, but here I stand vindicated.

Correct me if I've missed something. But what on Arawyn do dragoons have to do with Anoch and our war efforts?

I question how taking Anoch will be seen as something "that will give the enemy some indication that we know something that they do not".
Anoch is a symbol, much like how Alieander and the Black Keep are. It is a place of study and learning for many, and holds special significance to even more people.
The only thing that taking Anoch will show is we want more "symbols" to sway the populace.
On top of that, Anoch is a stronghold due to the natural barriers protecting it and hard time getting a full military force to it. Strategically it is good to take and hold it for the tactical advantage it holds, as well as the knowledge there.
