Regarding Ser Osric Von Kerr

The Grand Council and I have come to a decision regarding Ser Von Kerr's offer.

A letter is being sent to him accepting his offer to meet and negotiate the terms of release for the prisoners.
Know that we do not take this situation lightly.

Ser Nesterin will be posting soon to put together the team who will be meeting with Ser Osric.
If you wish to join him, please send him a missive so he is aware.

The following are the terms that will be offered to him for the series of crimes he has committed, if he surrenders the prisoners to us:
-Significant leniency to his crimes as a traitor to the kingdom if he publicly renounces his oath to Duke Balliol.
-Amnesty against the crime of Treason for his soldiers if they submit to confessional under the direction of Primus Ephrem of the United Church of Eodra.
-Fair trial for the crimes of kidnapping, theft, and racketeering.

After he has served his sentencing, the kingdom will give strong consideration towards employing him and his unit.

War profiteering through the kidnapping and extortion of prisoners of war is more detestable than the imprisonment of them in the first place. But, in this moment, the circumstances are unique, and anyone seeking the divorce themselves from Duke Balliol should be offered leniency due to the horrid nature of the warlock manipulating the situation.

As the Lord Admiral said, I will be spearheading the group going to negotiate with Ser Von Kerr. I am admittedly not the best at negotiations. So my role in this endeavor is to give Noble backing to whomever negotiates for us, if they do not already hold a title, and to ensure the safety of all involved.

That said, you do not need to be a great at negotiating. If you think you can help, let me know. Either post here or send me a private missive and tell me what you can offer for this effort. We are looking for negotiators, fighters (in case things go wrong), healers, support of all kinds, shadows for both protection and investigation, etc. If you think you can help and are invested in saving our soldiers, I want to hear from you.

I will be making the final decision on the team within the week. I don't think there will be any issue with me bringing a large group but remember the intent is to save our people not to start a fight. We will defend ourselves if we are attacked or if this is a trap but our primary concern is the safety of our soldiers.

Remember that this is a negotiation, so if we get a large amount of volunteers there may be a few of us listening while others talk. I would love to give everyone their chance to get involved but we have to do this tactically and diplomatically.

I am willing to assist however, I must ask something. What indication has been given that this man is breaking with the Duke? What alternative terms is he to be given? He seems a greedy man who has gold on his mind- what is to be done if he refuses? Or is that to be discussed in private with the group chosen?
