Nesterin,
You better be bringing Kin with you, should he wish to go, which I expect he will. I think it goes without saying that I’ll also be wanting to go with you to retrieve our own.
And one more thing, I fully expect that we’re marching into a trap here. Being that this is one of Balliol’s subordinates going against his will.

Squire Jericho,
It warms my cold metal heart to see that I am not alone in my paranoia! Suggestions on how to deal with this possibility are welcome, particularly when it comes to our own people that we rescue, but Therion has also uncovered some information that leads us to believe this man is fully capable of avoiding the mind control.
So, while the top priority remains getting our people back, this is the kind of man who may be wary enough of Travancian diplomacy to not even have the prisoners at the initial meeting location. It's important to play nice (no matter how distressing this situation is) and see where this goes in the event that a second meeting is required.

My friends and trusted allies, be wary of the wolf we invite into our den.

Perhaps a contingency is in order? A hidden relief force that is able to react and provide aid quickly if it turns out to be a trap or negotiations go south. I agree with Aiki that we should not send an army to negotiate, but it's always good to have one ready should we find ourselves in a unfavorable position. Regardless of the path taken, you have my assistance.

That is why I have asked people to come forward and let me know how they can help. I am not asking for everyone to go up and talk. I stated I wanted fighters and shadows there as well should things go south. I haven't really gotten any volunteers for that yet.

I agree with Ser Gras,
We are far too deep and ahead in this war to throw caution to the wind. May I suggest Ser Mileof and his Spirits play advance scout. If Corvancia may be of any service, please be forthwith the request and I can convey the message to my chain of command.

If you would like to go and help, please also put how you would like to help. Obviously not everyone is going to be a negotiator, but I also don't want to ask you to do something you're not comfortable with.
