Here's an idea:
A simple monk from a far away land. No connections to anyone on this continent and eager to learn and talk to people. The garb would be different (easily seen) from you other roles IG so no one will confuse this new character with your others.. Offers opportunity to interact - especially with new players.

Just a random Travancian commoner from the outter baronial territories. which a few lists accommodate. Brute for the tough fella, Gambler for the quick lucky son-of-a-gun, or maybe just scholar with diplomacy for the local fella what knows things, and has had to defuse more then one argument about whose chicken was whose..
If you'd be looking to play a Bell or even a ratcatcher I'd be amiable to that.

Another suggestion:
A number of your NPCs are happy-go-lucky non fighter/non committal joke characters.
Jonah, Carl Carlson, etc etc. They all kinda have a "come what may" personality and can be a bit sarcastic.
I think if you played someone with a strong character goal, and a real go-getter attitude (to get you on mods/content) you would have a much closer experience to what you are looking for.

Dirge comes from a large family of farmers in Farfield. You Know, the lands currently occupied by the Duke's forces, and have probably been fighting the occasional border skirmish with demons from the Demon Barrows. Needless to say, you're welcome to be part of the Morgan family.
