What's the best way to get there using public transit?

Taking the Septa is your best bet.  From Center City Philadelphia you want to get on the R5 "Lansdale Doyestown" and take that all the way up to Doylestown and have someone pick you up there.  Doylestown is probably only 15 minutes from Charlie's house and someone can pick you up from there.

Did you make the move to Jersey (Newark?) yet? If so, I can pick you up... otherwise, you can hop the A train (+ a walk over the bridge) or the 158 bus to my place.

Parking:  We usually encourage parking on the lower field at large gatherings at Casa Spiegel.  As of yesterday,it was still firm.  Those arriving Friday can park at the top of the teardrop, so long as you either keep your keys in plain sight in your vehicle or place a sign on the windshield stating to whom the vehicle belongs.  Do not pull off the drive at the top unless you first see a Spiegel.  The sawhorse blocks access on one side of the house.  You will become mired in mud if you ignore the warning there.
