This month was a lot of fun, thanks a whole lot to Chris's storytelling and everyone who made the event a smashing success for my mother Marla and sister Sophie, playing Mistress Miriram and Na'ar's half-sister Charcoal. They had a wonderful time, and they can be found through me or on the KR page on Facebook if you'd like to talk to them, as I don't know if they plan on registering here yet (yes, I'll be poking them in that direction.).
My personal highlights:
Being interrupted by Char in the middle of a story. That was... exactly what I expected of her, but was still a wonder to roleplay. Getting to be just a little worried and indignant until "seeing" she'd be watched over.
Avoiding Dakin at the Stump with Bazan. As soon as we heard something weird was going on, we hid behind the kitchen until we could get an escort out. Turns out, we did the right thing. I wish I could have spent more time down there, it just wasn't to be.
Coming back and talking with friends. You guys are the reason I come to this place, and the reason I fight... but with all the parties going on, there wasn't a lot of adventuring, to be honest.
NPC shift was combat, but low-key, so it was quite doable. I will, however, remember "Just show us your card, and we'll fall down dead," and "You just need one other lore!" for a long time. You know who you are.
Waking up to Market Faire early for once... *cough* Faire was good, though. Lots of tasty food. Didn't get to keep my jam... it got taken from the fridge before I could get to it *sadface*.
Dispatching Mars's mushrooms. After that new barbarian with the polearm tried walking right up to one of the big ones and attacking it, dragging him back and keeping him alive. When the poison got purged, healing him, and as he got up to try again, pointing my dagger and going, "No. Bad. Down." and actually being listened to. Taking out the second one was much easier, if just as amusing, with so many people participating at the Inn.
In between the shrooms, running a bit off-script with those same fighters. Delivering an unconscious character to Sir Aleister and Brother Brogan (among others) who I knew could handle a perpetrator.
Light Mass was inspiring, as usual, and again, thank you to all those who helped make it special for Char and me. Fighting those brigands who interrupted it was good too.
Main mod was crazy: avoiding the Astral Juggernaut by sheer OOG skill, not getting dropped thanks to everyone who gave me armor, learning Heal Life through the guidance of some very patient battle healers and some very embattled healing patients.
Getting to help Reanimate Elric. I really appreciated the chance to be there for him, and for Seamus and Leandra. I'm thinking that I might sit down with a physician (if there's time) at the Festival and pick up Medical Assistant from someone. Even so, with how in sync Ilana and I were when we got him up, you'd think we'd rehearsed that call: "Reanimation!" "Heal Wounds - heal 60!". A thrill to observe, and gratifying to know everything the four of us did was enough to get the job done.
After the reanimation, spending some time at the Monastery while Gustav was being reanimated, and witnessing the worst time of Tobar's life. Then, realizing that while there are a fair few people who like me, I'm getting a little too good at my job. Oops.
Sitting and teaching healing lessons to two new healers, Nadia/Nadya (?) and Tim for about an hour, then teaching my very patient victim, Myr, how to teach. You all learned quite well, and I welcome you back to me if you ever need to learn more.
Sunday was great, even if rainy: Spinning riddles for the Guildmaster, then getting sucked into another fight way above my level. Pissed-off Elementals: Part of this complete, nutritious Travancian breakfast.
Helping dispatch the ogres was great too... One of them got my weapon once, but the second time, oh, no. I saw it coming and dodged that quickly. Thanks to Father Weaveforger for letting me get back into the fight.
Sharing personal-stock drinks with friends all morning. I apologize to whoever missed out, I didn't get the chance to buy up like I usually do, so I missed out too. Sorry.
Bard lessons from Tobar, who Clait finally got to meet, and picking up Crit from Seamus. Add that to picking up a couple of racials, and I'm quite happy.
That sums up what I remember of last weekend. Now to finish recovering from ridiculous dehydration and rhinovirus problems.
See you at the Festival! (I hope.)

The biggest highlight of all was the warm welcome from everyone in Travance. My daughter Sophie, playing Char, the Kiterian, is so sad she had to leave! Thank you for the kind comments on her role-playing skills. Although she and I will be traveling on the other side of the Rift for the next twelve moons with her father, the scholar, we hope to return next summer, and we will be sending pictures of our adventures in faraway lands.
Many thanks to all of you for creating an atmosphere that celebrates friendship, creativity, knowledge and teamwork. I now understand why my son Nate (Na'ar/Clait) looks forward to being here so much. It is a pleasure to be part of the community.
Farewell, until we meet again,
Mistress Miriam

- Friday night:
I forgot my pants and had to borrow pants.
- playing a supped up death fiend, and Oog scaring someone when I used fear on someone else.
Actually holding people back long enough to get the corruption ritual to go off,
- But before then, being told to attack the hooks tent, (which was surrounded by witch hunters, then attack the monastary (which had the entire clergy there at the time, I got smoked from behind by killdar... I mean kwildar.
- I don't remember much of Friday night after my npc shift other than the fact that I was told to go stay in the monastary
Saturday:
- so many smithing lessons!
- narrowly blocking a slay from a hydra baby
- matching the half million magic lessons that gideon taught and having my character not understand any of it other than "fire is not subtle"
- breaking when I saw a silver spoon on the ground during the baby hydra fight.
- main mod was kinda awesome, got 4 minor insanities and my first major from it, so what if I died in the process? On a related note, being reanimated was kinda awesome too.
Sorry Liam, I did not get, "think I am a dragoon" as an insanity
- Sunday:
- Having an epic moment when I shouted at an ogre andthey immediately changed direction.
Accidentally letting it slip to rayven that I have no defnse skills, I am afraid now.

In no particular order:
-Three people coming up to me for training, and the hatred for my teaching methods that ensued.
-Strength training with a new player (sorry I can't remember names very well), and having him move picnic tables.
-Lore: Divinity training.. I mean writing... with Jerec.
-Prayer Shield and Malediction training with Brax.
-Sleep. Holy crap sleep.
-Impromptu mass and benediction at feast. While fun, I realized I need to get better OOG at public speaking.
-The realization that I need to start picking up Fourth Rank Prayers.
-Oddly enough, no longer being called Templar Rayven, but Father Rayven, after one event of having Priest.
-Matthis/Lethias confusion.
-Also, strangely enough, the same three people constantly hitting me and blowing tag skills on me claiming they confused me with the enemy.
-Sitting next to three mages then realizing "Why am I still sitting here?"
-REALLY awkward conversation with Silverbow about gems. At least awkward on my end, likely amusing on his.
-Oh, and pool party prior to the event.

Every time a PC takes himself out through his own stupidity does not let me sing the Oompa-Loompa song.
The barbarian must remember that 'human shield' is a figure of speech
Before facing the dragon, not allowed to glaze the elf.
