I work with a guy who is in SCA and he posts pictures of himself in plate mail on the companys internal website. So I was able to give a brief explanation of KR and show some pictures without too many weird looks. Might be bringing one or two coworkers to an event sometime in the near future.

And I just tell people I go larping then they are like what's that. My reply is I go into the woods one weekend a month and beat my friends up with foam weapons as we act like fantasy creatures. That usually ends the conversation real fast.

I was once stopped and searched by the police once. When they pulled my boffer weps out of the car the one cop was like "What the hell is this thing"

I was like "Sir, Its a long story"

He told me to explane
so i told him " I play live lord of the rings"

They let me go as soon as I said that.
they figured I was probably a harmless  a nerd and there was no reason to continue searching my car.

im with blade i tell the whole truth and surprisingly enough normally that get their attention and if they like it they ask if not they usually just leave me alone lol doesnt hurt that most of my friends and ex girlfriends were u know DnD players themselves
