Alright. You claim the Duke may be innocent. Are we ignoring the fact that when the Duke and Ser Tristam argued, he said something proving that he was by no stretch innocent? The Duke asked where Tristam's loyalties were, Tristam replied "to Kormye." The Duke's response was "Which Kormyre? MY Kormyre?" That advisor/warlock/whatever he was called out "You know what you must do Emperor". If you think he's innocent, you are delusional. The Duke has slaughtered many trying to get where he was. It's clear that the Duke will not stop at conquering Travance. I've seen war. I've seen people die. No General of any kind is "innocent". You don't get that kind of command without having blood on your hands.

Duke Baliol and Lord Chancellor Enzarond murdered my Knight in front of me. They did it knowlingly and did it because he stood before them to defend the people he so loved. There is no honor or justice in that. There will be justice for Tristram. No matter what you seem to think, they are not innocent bystanders and they will be dealt with accordingly. I only hope that the final blow to the Duke can be by my hand or that of his wife Ser Yvain, in revenge for Tristram.

I'm a True Warlock. The Advisor made a deal. He accepted the symbiote period. He willingly became a Warlock. That being said my concern and investigation is to see how many of the Council are involved.
And to those that call Warlocks disgusting or monsters or whatever. Remember there are people out there that are warlocks and help this town frequently before you put your 2 copper out there.
Also the elf man willingly accepted the symbiote. He made a deal. The difference was he was able to be set free and wanted to be free.

Dr. Willowyn,
The Quinarian man you refer to is Renior Fai, the selfsame man that everyone else refers to. I have read his journals, and spoken to him and his former symbiote, and what all these experts have told you is true. I encourage you to do your own research, if you are a man of learning, because I have confidence it will lead you to the same result: True Warlocks must become what they are willingly, else they would not be True Warlocks. If you want resources to begin this study or suggested avenues of inquiry, feel free to ask.
In the interest of pursuing and sharing truth and knowledge,
Talaniel Starling

Squire Keladry Aybara.
I agree, that the duke should fall. But be careful of thoughts of revenge. Such things ill-maintain a person for long, and after achieving such things one is often left hollow, and the revenge becomes cyclical and obsessive until all one is left as is a weapon and instrument of vengeance.
Thank you to Jonah for explaining what happened in very specific detail, and thank you Starling for your explanation of True Warlocks.
Hjolda, if nothing else I am learning a lot about the nature of our foes from this discussion!
If you wish the details of this, as they aren't important to the matter at hand, send me a missive. But in the meantime, concentrate on defeating the Duke's forces and delivering the people of Kormyre. From the understanding I have gleaned of your knight by your writings as well as those of others here, I would imagine that would be his priority.

Every single person from Grimwyr that was mind controlled to attack us, that we had to kill because they were robbed of the ability to seek mercy.
These are the innocent people who died by the actions of the leadership. I respect your loyalty to your former masters, but until you speak louder on behalf of the innocent dead than asking for forgiveness to their unrepentant murderers your words lack the compassion you claim to have.
