To perhaps be brief, it had maybe been confirmed that:
The Duke could be mind could be mind controlled.
The Chancellor may not have known the extent of what the symbiote had offered
The Blazing Sun, according to previous posts and other talk, has used mind control tactics.
What if the Blazing Sun controlled the Chancellor’s mind to accept the symbiote?
More research is perhaps necessary.

It's ok,
When we kill them all the gods can sort out who did what and who is responsible for what and make sure they go to the right place.
That's how religion works I've been told.

Willowwyn,
What you refuse to recognize is that some things are objectively true. As a physician, you should understand that. You wouldn't say "Perhaps this person doesn't need to breathe to live" or "Perhaps this person doesn't need their heart beating to live". But you insist that the objective truth that the Chancellor agreed to become a host to a true warlock is not true. And now when you have been corrected multiple times, you say that he might have been mind controlled into it. What do you benefit from trying to protect an obviously guilty man? Why does his theoretical innocence matter more to you than saving the lives he is destroying, even if its at the cost of killing him? Why do you support one man's life over thousands?
